I discovered needlepoint during graduate school, and it changed the way I think about making beautiful things. Needlepoint required the same patience and care I brought to my research — only this time, the thinking happened through my hands.

What took longer was finding canvases that captured the kind of beauty I was looking for: classical compositions, painterly color, beauty worth framing and keeping. I wanted canvases that honored the artistry of the craft, and when I couldn't find them, I started designing my own.

That inspiration became Pierrepont: a small Brooklyn atelier devoted to needlepoint canvases and kits worthy of the tradition itself.
