Terms of service
These terms govern your use of pierrepontneedlepoint.com and any purchase you make from Pierrepont. By placing an order you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Shipping Policy, Refund Policy and Privacy Policy, each of which forms part of these terms.
Pierrepont is operated from Brooklyn, New York. You can reach us at atelier@pierrepontneedlepoint.com.
Who may order
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to place an order. By ordering you confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you are authorized to use the method of payment you have chosen.
Orders and acceptance
An order becomes a contract when we confirm it by email, not at the moment of checkout. We may decline or cancel an order — and will refund you in full — where an item is unavailable, where a price or description has been listed in error, or where we suspect fraud.
Prices are in US dollars and may change without notice. A change in price does not affect an order we have already confirmed.
Our designs
Every design offered here is the intellectual property of Pierrepont, or is used under license, and is protected by copyright.
When you buy a canvas you are buying that canvas. You are free to work it, to finish it, to display it, to give it away, and to sell the finished piece you have made with your own hands. You may not reproduce the design, print it onto another canvas, use it to produce further canvases, or make it available to anyone else in any form. Wholesale and trade arrangements are welcome and are made in writing; write to us at atelier@pierrepontneedlepoint.com.
The Pierrepont name, the Pierrepont mark, and the text and photography on this site belong to us and may not be used without permission.
Colors and materials
Screens vary, and no photograph reproduces a color exactly. We photograph our canvases as faithfully as we can, and a small difference between the image on your screen and the canvas in your hands is normal rather than a defect.
Canvases are printed to order in scheduled runs. Slight variation in mesh, in the depth of color, and in the placement of the design within the margin is inherent to the material and to the process.
Preorders
Preorder canvases are produced in scheduled runs and typically arrive within four to six months. That is an estimate and not a guaranteed delivery date. You may cancel a preorder at any time before it ships and we will refund you in full. Should a preorder become impossible to fulfill, we will tell you and refund you.
The finishing service
When you send us a worked canvas for finishing, you place your property in our care, and we take that seriously.
- You are responsible for postage and for insurance on the journey to us, and we recommend a tracked service. We cannot be responsible for a canvas that does not arrive.
- We will handle your canvas with the care it deserves. In the unlikely event that a piece is lost or damaged while it is with us, our liability is limited to the value of the canvas and the materials, and to a refund of the finishing charge. We cannot compensate you for the hours of your own work, which we recognize is the part that cannot be replaced.
- Finishing is bespoke work carried out to your instruction and cannot be reversed once begun. If you are uncertain whether a treatment suits your piece, write to us before you post it.
- Canvases left with us for more than twelve months after we have written to you about completion may be treated as abandoned. We will make every reasonable effort to reach you first.
Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that takes place under it. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
Liability
We provide this site and everything on it in good faith and as it stands. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising out of any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Needlepoint involves needles, scissors and small parts. Please keep canvases, kits and tools away from young children.
Third parties
This store is hosted by Shopify, and payment is handled by Shopify and its payment providers. We do not receive or store your full card details. Links to other sites are offered for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York.
Changes
We may revise these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the moment you place an order is the version that applies to that order.
