About Finishing
We partner with Final Curtain Finishing, a studio of Broadway costume and prop artisans who bring theatrical craftsmanship to needlepoint finishing. The hands that build for the stage — where every seam must hold and every detail must read from the back row — are the hands we trust to turn your finished canvas into a framed piece, an ornament, a pillow, or nearly anything you can imagine. You may contact them directly and mention your Pierrepont canvas. We are always glad to advise on what a particular design might become.
About StitchPerfect Printing
StitchPerfect™ is a printing technology developed by our production partner, NeedlePaint, and every Pierrepont canvas is printed with it. Needlepoint canvas is a woven material, and even the finest weave carries small natural irregularities — which means an ordinary printer, aiming at a theoretical grid, will drift out of register with the real one. StitchPerfect solves this by aligning the printed design to the actual weave of each canvas, so every color lands precisely on the intersection where it belongs, from the first square to the last.
The result is a canvas you never have to interpret. Colors print crisp and true, lettering stays clean, and geometric lines hold their alignment across the full width of the piece — a precision that matters especially for intricate designs like ours, composed square by square. Each canvas is printed in the United States, and each one arrives as an exact rendering of the design: a faithful foundation for your needlework.
While these techniques are different, each serves its purpose beautifully. Hand-painted canvases are the work of skilled artists, and we admire that tradition without reservation — a painterly design with blended washes and expressive brushwork deserves a painter's hand.
Our designs ask for something else. Every Pierrepont canvas is composed square by square on a precise grid, and that kind of design is served best by a printing process built for exactness. StitchPerfect printing places each color on the precise intersection where it belongs, with no ambiguity at the edge of a motif and no interpretation required — a fidelity to the grid that even the steadiest brush cannot match. The stitching experience is identical: the same canvas, the same threads, the same pleasure in the work.
About Custom Designs
We do, for our wholesale partners. Retailers may commission original designs exclusive to their shop — a canvas of your storefront, your town, or a motif your customers ask for by name. Custom work is subject to our standard design fee and wholesale minimums; we share full terms when you inquire, and we welcome inquiries through Faire or by email.
We do not currently take custom commissions from individual needleworkers, though we hope to in the future. If a custom Pierrepont canvas is something you would love, we invite you to tell us so — knowing there is interest helps us decide when to open the door.
